And that comes from a libertarian republican. Let's take a reasonable, logical, fact based approach and remember Occam's Razor. Bias isn't some vast political conspiracy. Nobody would have to implement some wild plan to get bias in the media. People are naturally biased. Furthermore in our corporatist economy profit is the primary motivator and every product will reflect the demographics of its purchasers. Profit and demographics are the reason for media slant, not politics.

There was a liberal bias, a clear one, for many years in television media. But it wasn't some dark, sinister political conspiracy. It had to do with demographics. At that time liberals were more likely to watch television news so the product was tailored to meet that demographic. Newspapers tended to be more right wing for the same. Now the pendulum is swinging right. FOXNEWS showed there is a market for right leaning news. CBS, CNN, MSNBC and ABC have all swung to the right a bit now.
